Corporate IT Manager

CHICAGO, IL
Our client, a renewable energy power producer, is seeking an IT leader to guide and develop their corporate IT function. The Corporate IT Manager will oversee all aspects of IT operations for U.S. business activities while aligning local initiatives with global corporate IT standards. This role is responsible for managing infrastructure, budgets, vendors, contracts, and compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of all IT systems while supporting day-to-day business operations and facilities needs.

Responsibilities:

IT Strategy & Leadership:
  • Implement and adapt global IT strategies, policies, and systems to meet local business requirements.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all IT functions across the U.S. operations.
  • Guide and mentor IT team members, ensuring a strong culture of service, accountability, and professional growth.
Operations & Support:
  • Oversee daily IT operations, including hardware, software, and network management.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure employees have the right access, tools, and support.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and address issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date documentation for systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Budget, Vendor & Contract Management
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, balancing cost-effectiveness with business performance needs.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts that meet business requirements and ensure SLA adherence.
  • Track SLA metrics, assess performance, and take corrective action when standards are not met.
Security, Compliance & Governance:
  • Ensure full compliance with corporate security policies, data protection standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement best practices for cybersecurity, access control, and data privacy across all systems.
  • Partner with global IT and compliance teams to uphold consistency and mitigate risk.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of experience in IT management or a comparable leadership role.
  • Proven track record in IT budgeting, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure management, information security, and SLA frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
